bonnet weigh for the 172,182 ? i know when i lift the standard bonnet its fairly heafy and i rekon 12-15kg so can anyone tell me the exact weight please... also where to buy

depends who made it, where you got it from, vary from anything like 5kgs(pin down) up to about 7-8kgs(normal bonnet hinges) probably best to get an aluminium bonnet its lighter

id prolly want the carbon for athestics also.. what is a pin down and is it a target for vandals i.e does it make it easy for peeps to get into my engine

i got one today and as for theft it would be just the same if they wanted to knick your one. i have an alarm sensor om my bonnet.

Pins through the bonnet mate with retaining clips ie. http://www.maserati-alfieri.co.uk/enthusiast66/361226-10a.jpg
Either 2 on the front edge negating the use of the bonnet catch or 2 on the rear as well meaning you can also remove the hinges and have a lift off bonnet.
Security may be an issue though without unsightly padlocks.

pin down bonnets are pretty easy to get into, unless somehow??? combined with the existing latch it would be secure, although being usually single skin i dont think you can use the existing latch,
