How much for a 16v steering rack?

Anyone know roughly, mine needs replacing on my valver for the MOT. Thats the only thing it failed on as theres play in the steering wheel. Passed with my k-tec de-cat fitted!!!! Thanks, sam

Probabily the column, tbh can be sorted by welding it

I wouldn't weld it if i was you. you shouldn't weld or heat up suspension, steering parts as it weakons the metal apparently. The MOT guy might not like it.

Nothing wrong with welding it - heaps of people have done it and got through the MOT.

there was a whole new rack on ebay a while ago for about 15quid? not sure if its still on there now.
