How much would i be looking at to get this repair done on my car


Its the same on both doors of the car

Driverside door....clear coats cracked off...not to sure

hard to put a price on it as if its peeling there, it may just peel right back so you have to blow into wing/rear quarter. got some pics further away so i can see whats actually gotta be painted as theyre too close

Well door side is about 6 inches long and it right down the the primer/metal as far as i can tell and as for the door clear coat that patch is the only bit and hasnt got worse in the time ive had the car....ill take a few shots tomoz for you mate....

get pictures further away, with where it needs painting circled, we can then see which panels need painting, whether it can be blew in somewhere and give a better price

Top pic is kind of what I have on my door (but not as much).

Personally I'm going to fill it in gradually with paint, dab laquer on it, wet and dry it level and then polish it out. Hope that works. If not, at least it'll look a bit better

rear quarters gonna have to be painted too, your lookin at around £250, you may get it a bit cheaper if you prep it yourself, but if its flaking ide just let the bodyshop sort it

Go and speak to the guy at chipsaway on the Baldovie Industrial estate, he's just taken out a couple of bad marks of mine for £70.

Do you remember the marks I had on the front from the frontal I had, the scratches and that, all gone. Can't even tell they were there.

if you want it done properly the areas will be sanded down, primed and then you will have colour to these the red lines ive drew on, then the entire door and rear quarter will be painted (not the bottoms though below side strips).

quarter has to be painted for the metallic colour match.

you can goto one of those guys that comes round to have it all bodged in.. sorry, blew in for £70 or something if that fits your budget better. Just dont wash that area with a jetwash or breath on it as the paint will flake off.

3rd option is to just touch the dings in with some touch up paint.

To be honest the cracked clear coat beside handel i really dont give a toss about its down the door that bugs me as i seen it on another clio a while ago but it had rusted just dont want that happening.

Ill prob go down there some point next week see what the give me.


While im at it whats best way to stick the outer window seal as the bit on drivers door keeps coming off in the corner when window goes up n down...tryed silicone lasted bout 2 days lol
