Length of time owned?

2 years in august and around 30k covered.

first belt change was done at renault when i first bought the car. soon found out how crap they were so paid out again last year for it to be done again.

a lot of the things that have been changed are due to me having slight ocd i think and just like to replace most parts when there is no history of them being changed before lol

I account for everything, every single penny. The cost of ownership and getting from A to B.

If you could imagine someone in life who is the polar opposite.... thats me!

I think some where in the middle or in reality probably nearer your side is best!

I bought this over an impreza thinking it would be a cheap car to buy and run.

£1,400 on the car - X-plate 172.

£600 on insurance.

Changed the 17s for 16s - Cost me about £360 after buying 4 tyres and selling the 17s.

Exhaust needed replacing - £180 (got a very good deal on this - brand new custom made exhaust, mid and rear section).

Dephaser went, so new cambelt etc. Got that along with new windscreen motor, shocks, brake pads, and other stuff - £1,560.

And now, still reeling from all that, the car spat its coolant out. So got it booked in for that. Who knows how much that will cost. Oh, and that was all of 15 minutes after ordering a full years tax @ £220.

So thats over £4K on a car I should have paid a lot less for. I could have had a decent car for that. FML. This in the space of 3 months.

Wish I'd bought the Scooby instead TBQH.

ETA Anyone wanna buy a phase 1 with the above work done to it, get in touch, I'll listen to offers. And I'm serious. Fallen well and truly out of love with it.

£3000 for insurance!

Pants down!!!!

  BG 182
1500 insurance
300 disks pads, tre's and lower bj's
60 week petrol (maybe 80 in weekend blast mode)

due 600 for belts dephaser because the previous owner got the timing done by a steamed walnut who didnt have a f**king clue what he was doing.

Owned it a year.

Including the car, 2x 6 months tax, belts, servicing and upgrades and insurance last year and covered for this year coming im at about 7500 roughly.

Forgetting everything altogether added up Im about 1700 on upgrades and servicing.

Feels painful adding it up but I'm glad I've kept most of what I have spent noted down. I hope I've got the car to the point where I can drive it for a while and not need to do anything major to it.

in the 2 yrs not including insurance, petrol, tax and tyres probs about 7k and that is why im thinking of getting shot
