***How much is it worth?***



So what do you think this is worth? 2004 Clio Cup in Inferno Orange. 142k on the clock, aux belt done 20k ago with receipt inc previous belt changes but due dephaser.
Good condition bodywork all round, marks on front left bumper and small dent on rear arch but paint undamaged
Lots of paperwork for previous work mostly at RS specialists.
Full custom exhaust decat.
Flocked dash.
Carbon fibre dash trim and cabon trim clocks
Sabelt steering wheel
98 Ron pop bang map
Some form of spring and coils (not sure if this can be identified from photos)

  Mk2 Phase1 Clio Spor
Hi all.

I’ve got a 2001 Mk2 Phase 1 172 In Pearl Black. MOT is due up on the 10th July. The car has some rust around the front of the arch on the rear right wheel, it’s an MOT fail if I leave it. I’ve been quoted £400 to have it repaired. I’d like to know what my car is worth and if it’s worth getting the work done? Few more details below.

85k on the clock
2 owners from new
Partial service history
Rear discs and callipers replaced less than 12 months ago
Front discs replace 18 months ago
Vehicle has intermittent service light on dash but engine runs perfectly.

Not sure what to value at due to the high mileage, what do people reckon?


Alien Green 200 Cup
126k miles (currently does 20 miles per day so rises slightly)
3 owners (I am the third), FSH, MOT'd till May 2020

Basic spec;

Cup model, fitted with aircon (currently empty)
Front radiator mount (front sub-frame) replaced under corrosion warranty in March 2018

All maintnance in ownership work;

I have owned the car from 85k miles and had it serviced every year. It had the belts done at 69k in 2015
Front shocks replaced at 92k
Front lower ball joints replaced at 95k
Replaced exhuast manifold with Predator system at 101k
Spark plugs and rear discs and pads replaced at 103k
Front Brembo discs and pads at 116k
Front upper and lower ball joints replaced at 125k

Engine and performance spec;

ITG panel filter
Scorpion res exhaust (also have res mid section spare)
Predator manifold
Sprint Booster V3
Remapped by EFI to 204.1bhp and 167.6lb/ft (with printout) in Jan 2019

HEL Braided lines
Brembo front discs and drilled rears
Brembo pads
215/45/17 front, 225/45/17 rear, Pilot sport 4 all round, good tread.
Stud conversion with TPI polarized nuts

Styling;

ATS GTR alloys 8J ET57 (wheels used in the VLN series, 8.2kg each, £1200 for a new set) these were bought used and have some minor peeling/damage along the edge of the rims
5mm H&R spacers
VXR Recaros on custom rails and airbags connected properly, these sit around 1-2 inches lower than standard Recaros depending on height setting
H&R 30mm springs

Steering Wheel retrimmed by Royal Steering
Body shop colour coded door strips
Gloss black door handles, wing mirror covers and bullets (with AG writing)
Black diamond covers
Coloured "RS" badges (black/green)
Sprint Spoiler
Projector Headlights with LEDs (cornering lights do not work due to retrofit)
New foot pedals and added foot rest
New floor mats with green trimming
Green seatbelts
Green JS hoses
Black engine manifold badge with green "RenaultSport"

Bad points;

Car received a deep scratch, some time in a car park, through to the primer across the back drivers quarter and rear bumper about 3 inches long.
Currently it is just filled in with some AG green paint and had a layer of lacquer over it to prevent further damage, I was led to believe this would blend "ok" with proper machining.
I was quoted around £1000 for a proper fix due to the complexity of painting/blending AG by a high standard body shop.

Honestly no idea! I hate using the sentimental card, but I've owned it 5 years nearly. So I've never thought about the monetary value before. I've been watching other nice examples reach silly unexpected numbers these last couple of months. As it's not a 'Factory, original' example pricing seems all over the place for this type of car. Would you agree?

Personally, I'd get it on Race Cars Direct for 10k and see how you get on. You can always lower the price if needs be but it looks really clean and has a good spec regardless of the number of owners.

Not planning on selling this but just wanted a rough idea of what it's worth, mainly for insurance value really?

Its a standard 172 cup with 131,000 on the clock, gearbox was replaced a few months ago and has done about 25,000 miles less than the car. Had a new Valeo clutch fitted at the same time as the gearbox. Michelin pilot sports all round, discs and pads were replaced all round not that long ago and the belts and dephaser were done about 2.5 years ago at 92,000 miles.

It hasn't got any rust but other bits of bodywork let it down a bit. There's a small dent in the passenger door just above the cup badge, the bonnet has some dents in it, and there's a small dent in the roof which somebody has made worse by trying to push it out 🙄

It hasn't got a lot of history but I've got all the original books etc that came with the car and a few old mot's and receipts.

what’s the MOT length? How many owners and does it have the OEM cat? It needs at least the bonnet painting given it’s black/gold.

Yeah thought so, only bonnet scrappy had in, other one somebody dented it by sitting on it.. mot until march & 5+ owners i think il have to check & yeah oem cat.

Afternoon all

Long story short but a 172 Mk2 which stays near us. Actually always get a few jibs over the years from my Dad and brother if coming back from the pub about the fact I think its 'a nice Clio' etc is possibly for sale. I had a look over it today and know the owner who is a really nice guy.

Completely standard, no mods at all.
Very clean, tiny tiny spot of rust on the fuel filler, arches all clean
FSH, all books and manuals belts done in 2016 + 2 keys
2 owners, current owner has had it since 2016

Good tyres, unmarked alloys

It has done 89,000 miles however, I thought it was a lot lower haven seen the condition over the years. This is the only thing putting me off.

Should the car have cruise control? I might be getting confused with a 182.

Any thoughts on value? I was very impressed with the condition, needs a good detail I guess and one headlight needs a good clean/sand.

Hi! Had these in my garage for a wile!

I’ve no idea on the make I only know there for a 172 cup!
Are they worth anything ?

Pretty sure they are a H&R coilovers as I recently sold a kit that had the same adjustable rear platforms a while ago. If you look on the shocks themselves, mine were Bilstein that are H&R branded items. See if the adjusters move freely and and the shocks are not leaking. If in good working order worth £200 - £300. The ones I sold were 60mm bolt spacing. I assume if from 172 Cup they are 54mm spacing.

Someone has elongated the lower mounting holes by looks of it.
