What the story is. Its my mates car and he got a pal to change the oil a week ago. After that there was a strange ticking noise coming from it so blamed the wrong grade of oil being put in , which apparently it was.
I took out his old oil this eve and put it in a container. We poured the new oil in the engine but it started to rain so i guessed it would be about 5 litre's like what is in my 172 and from what my mate thought so we topped the lot in.
Anyway we decided to empty the old oil into the 5 litre tub and it wasnt even half full !!! My mate assures me that the levels were fine and according to the dip stick its now well over the dipstick full level !!! that was half an hour after we changed the oil tho so it probably wont have settled.
Its either weve put too much oil in by filling up with the 5 litres or there was no where near 5 litres in before we started lol
