How much oil

How much oil should I be buying for my 182 including a filter change? I know its 5 litres, but not sure whether that includes the filter?

And best oil to buy, from where?

filter will only hold a tiny amount, so it probably wont make any difference!

what i dont want to do is buy a 5ltr bottle, then not have enough due to the filter containing some.

Its 5.1 litres including the filter. Basically I chuck the whole 5l in and it'll show on the top mark of the dipstick, start it up to run it through the filter and recheck and its just below the top mark and shows full on the electric gauge.

So a 5l bottle will be plenty basically lol.

Oil i've tried loads and have been using halfrauds (Comma) 5w40 fully synth for a while now and can't fault it myself.

they've got buy 1 get 1 free on their 5l 5w-40 oil at the moment.

Yeah it is, made by Comma as Ben says so not bad stuff. I get it with the trade card even without BOGOF its pretty cheap.

Wouldn't get the semi from them, just the fully.

Officially its 5.1 litres but if you put that much in it in one go it would go way over the max line. Stop at about 4 and 3/4s and see how far up the dipstick it is, then go for a drive and measure again. Top up as neccesary. The on board sensor can give a good indication if it works correctly.

I use Shell Helix 5w40w fully synthetic, only because my Shell garage sells it where I get my optimax.
