how much power could u get from a 1.416v

  None

thinking of buying one and just wondering how far the engine can go without having to de-cat the exhaust

erm, not very far........i thought this topic was going to be a nice balls out conversation lol.

  FRST and 106 GTi

it can be mate!

there are for good price some old used helicopter jet engines! Why use them? because they are taken off the helicopters even without any sign of failure. In the floor your engine can fail, but on the air............ no way.

By one and try a similar conversion like the ones done on motorcycles.

This should be a mild conversion and should put you in the chase of the fastest VTSs from uk! :p

btw, the engine lags almost 2secs to throttle response, but when it moves..... fukc!

Yep but there lethal things. Would be fast though never mind v6 and Roamers car ha ha. Would make for a few good racing tales.

The first sign of failure will be when it blows up.

Best way for more power is a 1.6 enigne isnt it?

Othewise a ported head manifolds and bigger TB cams and remap and you must be about 140hp

nah seriously back on topic guys ive got a 1.4 16v and wouldnt mind about 120BHP from it if thats a sensible target (or more if cost is sensible) I least i can f**k off a VTS owner then! lol...mainly want more midrange punch but top end power is always good

at the moment Ive got a open air K+N 57i induction kit but soon to be replaced with a BMC CDA carbon airbox fitted to the K+N plastic hose

Also got a sebring backbox - twin 3inch tailpipe option...

whats the most sensible thing to do next, heard a lot about this dastek chip being mentioned on here...what sorta cost and power gains would i see...

  2005 Nissan Navara

take the CAT off.....without doing this ur still restricting the engine, so nomatter wot u do its not gonna reach its full potential

Yer right, you wish! PMSL!

110bhp standard

add closed induction kit, full exhaust system, decat, manifold, head work, cams, remap, possibly bigger tb

may be looking somewhere nearer that figure

Its always the same basic principles to tune an engine. Go for the basic stuff: good exhaust (see if std exhaust manifold is any good, if not dump it and get a tubular one), air filter (that ramcharger from ktec seems to be the best solution for the 1.6 16v and 1.4 16v renault engines).

Next you need to work the engine: head work (talk to BenR/inlet manifold needs to be also checked for improvements has TB), wilder cams and custom chip to go with all this.
