How much thread should i have on spax rsx top nut

  clio 182
As above iv just fitted sum spax rsx coilovers to my clio 182 and there is only about 1 mm of thred sticking out the top nut but when i try putting the knocking fix spacer to stop it knocking there isnt enough thread left the blue loctite bit of the thread touches the top of thread and looks like it need to wind on more but its tight !! Is this normal

you need to get rid of the spacer that they supply (about 15mm long Piece of tube) I've told them it's not needed, don't know why it's in there at all

I havnt fitted the spacer they supplied all i fitted was the sping cap the top mount bearing and the rubber off old shock with the insert spacer that it has in it cause the 1 spax send hasnt got a lip on it to sit in the top rubber so i just used the old 1 the only spacer i have used is a washer to stop the knocking it just seems theres not enough thread to screw the top mount and top nut on

Will the nut that holds the spring diwn wind on more of i loosen the shock off cause i had to push the spring down when fitting the spring nut and then wound it down till tight

get rid of the extra washer, and check the slim-line nut is fully on once the weight of the car is back on it

oh hang on a minute, is it an old kit with the adjuster on the top? dunno about that, new kits have the damping adjustment at the bottom

Yes the rubber is the right way up and i dont mean nut i mean the bit at the top of the shock to hold the piston rod while tightening it upjust wondering if the old 1 looks like it has more thread were the allen key goes inside the top of the piston rod on standard and on the spax there is a ten mm bit to hold the piston rod
