Have you tried getting a quote at a body repair specialist? I find they all vary quite a bit in prices

I doubt it will cost the £500 that you knocked him down though

No, only looked at the car last night. I know they can vary, thought i'd try the CS experts first lol. What do we think, reshape, fill to suit then paint full quarter?

They'll correct body work then might touch up that area and feather it in. Unless you specify otherwise.

It's hard to see the extent of the damage with the little pics.

If thats the rear wing, I just had a fiesta 1.25 with exactly the same dent! Strange!

Cost me £230 incl vat to sort.

need better pics.

pretty sure the fiestas have the wide arches and theres a lip that goes around the arch so painting the entire quarter aint needed.

Great buy mae, don't let the garage paint just the arch unless your happy with it, i'd be looking for a full paint on the quarter and bumper possibly even a blend into the front door if the colour isn't great.

If you get a quote let me know.

Thanks for the pm at half 10 this morning!

id want as little painted as possible. theres VERY little damage to the car, meaning you are gonna be using very little basecoat.

if you insist that the rear quarter is painted, even just with laquer it can send the colour out slightly. plus you will have a full rear quarter painted which can lead to alot more problems than just having the arch painted.

full bumper painted is fine if theres nowhere to paint to, i aint a fan of blowing in halfway across panels as sooner or later, it will flake and look s**t

Paint wars!!!

Will do mate, cheers for your help! I'll take it to my good local place thats currently got my Cup and see what they say! Whole car needs a good PC too, so thats something else to get my teeth stuck into

I personally wouldn't blow it in along the arch either, by the time that's repaired/primed/sanded down/based up you're going to be right up next to line you're trying to fade it out on, which to me says having a hard edge along the arch.

a wings about £70 plus vat .. paining shouldn't cost too much and there only on with a few bolts and rivets i think .. i'll check the ford number and price when i get to work .. but wont cost anywhere near £500 ...

**edit .. didn't notice it was the rear .. .you might be able to get a repair bit .. ford normally do that ... if not it could be a bit pricey! **

It'll flake if you don't know what you're doing.

Nobody in their right mind would want to paint just to that arch, no decent paint shop would attempt it either!

Nobody wants new paint on their car of course not but I would rather it was done right and the panel with half basecoat and full lacquer you won't tell the difference.
Especially with sea grey. What a lovely colour aswell.

Again i'm only talking from getting it done at a decent garage. Profit margain is very small in the repair industry just now and garages are cutting corners, i'm seeing it weekly with rectification at my work from other garages.

not trying to scare you off the car but it might be best to have the car optoflex to make sure the wheel isnt out of alinement with the damage been around the wheel area
