10k Seems a bit hefty though- I guess nearer the middle 8's- low 9 ??-
depending if the damage was cosmetic or mechanical-

Don't see anything against buying a Cat d if there are pics and receipts etc to prove where damage was and how it was repaired etc.

That might just be me, cause if i bought a Vee i wouldn't sell it on anyway!

Indeed A phase 2 Could get into Cat D status with Cosmetic damage only-

Regardless. Its still a cat d... an imperfection. I see vees as being an exclusive car. Sort of like an antique. I wouldnt buy an antique with a scratch and repaint.

I think you will find most antiques have been 'restored' in minor ways-

Assuming everything is OK then This is a tricky one-perhaps a nice to own at a reduced price- maybe difficult to sell on-
All if your comfortable with knowing its had a shunt-
