When no one immediately replies to a thread, all you have to do is go find your old thread and bump it back to the top of the forum by replying to it yourself. Most people use the word bump.

Its just you have two how to change oil threads and an oil leak as well thread.

If you type your name ben_p into the author field of the search at the top, and bookmark the results, all you have to do is click on that bookmarked page and youre given a page full of your threads. Saves you having to look for all your threads by hand.

Have you thought about buying a Haynes manual?

If not ask Father Christmas for one ;)

Alternatively pop down to quick fit or like and get them to do it... im sure they have special deals on oil and filter changes.

they dont do hayns for may engine it has every other one ar mine lol,, will there be one out soon?

In basic terms mate all you have to do is this...

* Remove "Sump Drain Plug" and drain the old oil

You may require a square section tool do this but you can buy them at halfords etc..

* Remove the oil filter

It should be hand tight but if its hard to get too you may require a filter removal tool to make life easier...

* Smear some new oil on the new oil filter seal and tighten up by hand

* Refit "Sump Drain Plug" with a new washer

* Fill engine with the required amount of oil

You should find this in your owners manual!

* Start engine and let her warm up... then check oil level again

Top up if required but dont over do it!

Its also easier to drain the oil if you warm her up a little first, but be warned cos the exhaust manifold will be hot!!

If you have any doubts mate take it to a garage, its not worth it if you f*ck summat up cos your no good with a spanner! ;)

There is apparently a Haynes manual for the 2001 + Clios but Ive never seen one with all my looking.

Ask Fred I think he said he has seen one.

Ive got a 1.2 16V guide Pm me your email address and Ill send it to you not sure what it includes but it will tell you about the filters etc.

Something like 100 pages it is.
