How to check clutch ratchet

Hi all,
I think the self adjusting mech on my clutch may be banjaxed. A fee months ago it felt like it wasn't disengaging, so I reset the adjustment mech, and it sorted it. Its done it again now though, and the reset only works for about 5 prrssrs!, and I'm hoping that, as it was a sudden thing, its the adjustment ratchet rather than clutch itself.
Had a quick look last night and I'm finding it hard to see the ratchet to check the teeth, can it be done without removing the pedal assembly? Has anyone got a picture if the setup to help me visualise?

I've tried shimming the cable at the clutch fork but that doesn't seem to work.

You can take it off without the pedal mech. But for ~£30 you may aswell replace it.

Is that for the whole assembly? Straight from Renault?

Yes that's for the whole ratchet mech from Renault.

I'm having the same problem! Did you manage to get it sorted? My car is sat doing nothing until I get time to have a proper look!

I changed the ratchet, and it made no difference then, about a week later, the clutch failed completely
