if he rings a renault dealer they will have a system where all renault dealers must record services recalls etc.

if you go in and see them they will more than likely print you a list of dates with what was done, milege and where

:)

they only have a record at each dealer of services done by themselved. Ring Renault UK and ask for where is was purchased from... Chances are if its Renault service they have used it will be the supplying dealer.

I still can't understand why someone would buy a car with no history if they're worried about service history???

Renault uk dont keep the service history as far as I can remember only the warranty claim history which you should be able to get from any UK dealer.
With that you should be able to tell if it was kept to schedules.

As to service history you will need to find the supplying dealer and take it from there.

I gather the car is cheap with no history, so why not have a 72k type service done with cambelt & mot test for peice of mind.

Your all wrong.

The supplying dealer doesnt have to service thew car. What if you found the ideal car in Scotland but you live in London, ideally you would service the car closer to home?

Renault wont do anything, each dealer acts independantly and dont share service history of cars amongst each other, why you ask? Well if you are willing to find a garage that is willing to let other garages know when customers are due their next service, MOT, and timing belt change then give me their number so i can call them a commercial muppet.

The best hope you have is to contact the previous owner(s) and ask them where they had the car serviced. Then call the dealership and ask them for the service histroy. They will more than likely say no, update their system and plough your letterbox through with mailers.

Any renault dealership will be able to tell you where the car was supplied. As mentioned in my first post, its could be irrelavant.

As said you cannot get the service history form Renault Uk only if you ask round can you get the copy of warentyl work don which might help work out where the car might have been serviced.

Unless a garage did the services as part of the sale then nope they didn't come with any free services at all the cars from Renault.

This is a shame really.BMW have a database that can track if your car was ever serviced by them

Not wrong was i though? i didn't say the supplying dealer always services it but chances are.... Just get off your high horse.. When getting service history for salvage cars for all makes this is the way i have always gone about it and i nearly always get it.

AliasOmega - You made the same point as me so no your not wrong, id assume you would of understood that from my post.

superfastdan - You didnt even make a point so you not right or wrong.

Joshydee - Thats why i quoted and replied to your post to exclude you as such, no high horse here.

Ian - I work for BMW and we use Kerridge, didnt know that BMW UK could look at service history on cars here. I know dealerships cant view the data on each others though for obvious reasons.
