How to separate column? (lower joint)

I ask cleanly, because I got it off on a old column but it wrecked the other joint

Are they tap through pins on these with a circlip one side?

Im probably being a noob tbf mate. You can see what Im trying to do here, its a sleeve same spline as twingo part

Is that's the collapsible bit? You're just trying to separate the U joint arent you?

Well, I used a broken clamp to hold it in place, it kept moving around everywhere, then you see the chewed up bit on the joint? I used a spanner and held the other end with 1 hand while I smashed it with the other, but I couldnt get leverage on it as it killed my hand, so I put a breaker bar through the spanner and held that. After a tons of whacks I got it, it shot out and hit me just above my bad knee, but luckily the knees okay. All in a days work
