how to shine door

  BMW 335d

i had my front drivers door mended last year (wind caught it and blew it into the corner of my house) and obviously they have re-sprayed it. It isnt as shiny as the rest of the car so I have tried different polishes but just cant get it to match the rest of the car. Does anyone know of anything I can use to get the shine back?

Thanks

sounds like the laquer has sunk. no polish willhelp really mate. I would take it back to get em to either flat it and then buff it (oo er missus) or re- laquer it. Dont waste your time with polish.

Think Im having this problem except it was both doors that got scratch and needed repainting.

they use a very fine grade wet n dry paper to take the sheen off the surface, use a compound to restore the shine using an elctric buffing tool.
