I'm 37 years old, currently own a 172 Cup (it's the only real Cup - FACT) and a 1972 MK1 Escort Mexico and and a 1974 Escort MK1 RS2000 in a bit of a state.

I grew up on RWD Escorts and have had more than 25 in my 20 years of driving, as well as a few 205 GTI's, Golf Gti's, a scooby, an evo, an Intergrale, an Audi Quattro and after the missus and the kids arrived loads of FWD sheds, BUT my 172 Cup puts a smile on my face every time I turn the key. I live in rural Wales, so I turn the stereo off and can get to Brecon on the wondeful b-roads in 15 mins, it's an incredible car. And fir the value for money it doesn't compete.

My Escort Mex which is 35 years old has an agreed valuation of £9,000 where as my 4½ year old Cup is worth prob £5,500 - but still its such an incredible car for the money - if you want to DRIVE its the 172 Cup all the way, forget about about the poxy luxuries, the heater doesn't even work in my Mex and never has ! CUP all the way, END OF.
