How well will fibre glass bond to 172 bumper?

As it says how well does fibreglass bond to the plastic of the bumpers?
Would it eventually crack or anything?
Is there any special prep work needed before applying it?

what you gonna be fibreglassing? if your smoothing in bump strips or something its generally best to melt it together first so you have a solid base to work on. then give it a good scuff up with P80/180, then apply it. make sure you give it a good pushdown

I wanna modify my mk1 172 bumper and grill, chop out the middle bit and smooth it out

it won't stick very well, not worth trying it will crack and fall off. best buy a second hand bumper, and modify that one and see what it ends up like. or buy a replica fiber glass bumper from one of them cheap places, then you won't have any problems
