hows about a raffle for a cup

would it be possible for a raffle to win a cup to be done? if tickets were sold at say £5 a time, it would only take say 2750 tickets if that to cover the car and cost of running the raffle? £5 is not an over the top price which all could afford to buy.

i for one would be interested in buying a few tickets.

could also be some other prizes like set of new alloys/stereo/exhaust/p**n

what does everyone think?

We were talking about this a while ago, but for a V6. Its difficult, as you dont know how long it will take to sell the tickets, so you cant give a winner to be drawn on ../../.. date. By the time the tickets are sold all the Cups might be gone!

You would need to get the money in first, and you would need more than the quoted ammount of people (incase any drop out etc) plus with the extra cash you could fit a decent alarm system and give the rest to charity (but 10quid a ticket may be better).

Id pay a tenner for a ticket. Think itd be more realistic than trying to sell 2750 at a fiver. Infact, Id probably pay £20 for a ticket. I think.

In between..... £15 a ticket, not too much and have to sell fewer tickets id buy one, im sure most of the people on this site would. Find someone trust worthy to do the draw (like a preist) Could even mate a day of it (Big clio meet) if everyone spread the word im sure it could be pulled off.

Maybe Jeremy Townsend would like to provide a Cup at a friends and family discount if we could raise the cash? Go on.....you know you want to!

we can raffle off my cup. do a ticket for for each of the pieces that it is in.

then the money can pay my excess

i still think thought that more people could afford £5, means that if you wanted you could buy 1 or 2 or 10......whats the moderators thoughts?

could be done like i said above

1st prize - 172 Cup

2nd prize - £1000 vouchers for say ktec

3rd prize - £500 of ice

the only 2 problems I can see are:

1. you couldnt guarantee if you could sell all the tickets, if you cant, then what?

2. people would want a date when the draw would take place. leaving it open would put people off.

just my ideas. but i do think its a good idea. wed just need far more coverage than we could possibly get.

do the draw for 6 months time..(ive bought tickets to win a car before...only to read in the small print that the draw dont take place for a year!)..but whoever is selling them would have to work their ass off to sell em !!! then youve got the extra cost of going to car shows to sell the tickets !!!....youd have to put the money into an account & if all tickets wernt sold then offer refunds.....but then you have to cost of having the tickets made !!.....all this would have to be included in the price of the tickets !!!

its a bigger job than you think !!

its gotta be £5 a ticket......any more than that & people wouldnt trust you unless you were a professional outfit !!

Surely selling less tickets for say £50 would be better, as youd have a better chance to win and a quicker turn over of tickets sold on the back of the reason above :D

Id do it

  FOR SALE - Mk1 V6

chance to win a cup. id have a go.... there rest of the money (if any) could go to that person insuring the cup :)

i still would say more tickets would be sold if it was say £5 a time, not everyone could afford £25 or £50 but for those that could they could buy say 10 tickets at the £5.

Jas...what about you and the mods doing a pricing exercise? insurance brokers could confirm the price of insurance for having to cancel the draw if things went tits up.
