HT Leads....

  Countryman JCW
Car started to go tits up yesterday when i was driving to a mates house, go the recovery bloke out and it he thinks the HT leads are gone as they were arking alot!

Ive been doing some research on leads, Renault want £93 for a set, and K-tec want £53 for some blue magnecor ones! does anyone know of anywhere else to buy them from? im at uni in bournemouth, but live in the midlands so can go to either area's to get them?

Has anyone had this done and if so what was the cost of fitting etc.... the recovery chap said i would need to remove the plenum chamber(inlet manifold) to get to the plugs etc meaning a new gasket for that?

i dont really have a clue... so any info would be much appreciated!

Did I hear you say Bournemouth ;)

I have some spare leads kicking around I'm sure, Want me to have a look when I get home?

taking the plenum off is very easy, people say you should get new gaskets but its not always nessasary.

Yeah Good work MattJK. As for Rossi it fairly easy mate theres 5 or 6 bolts to take off the inlet manifold as well as various plugs to undo and the induction pipe. The gasket should be fine I normally just lightly grease the gasket up before replacing the inlet and mines fine. Ive just done my spark plugs twice now as originally i put bosch super 4's in it and it ran like a dog. So i put NGK's in it then did the lot coil pack leads etc. Leads from Demon Tweeks £36 i think something like that anyway. Job done. But best of luck.

  53 Clio's & counting
definaltly use the correct ngk's i used super 4s too and mine also ran like crap

the magnector leads are good i have these, pretty good price too

Yea I'm gunna have a look for them tonight and we can hopefully get it sorted

The magnecore leads have no benefit over the standard leads other than the bling effect. ;)
