HTC Desire to iTunes

I've got a friend who had an HTC Desire and she's trying to sync it to iTunes but is struggling.

I had no idea this was even possible.

Can anyone shed some light and how to fo it?

She has downloaded iTunes Sync to her phone already.

iTunes Sync isn't run from the phone. It's run on the PC.

Then all you should do is plug your phone into the PC and set it to "disk Drive" or transfer files or whatever the option is called that mounts it as a drive letter.

The other option is to use doubletwist

you have to use htc sync then you can sync playlists etc.

This is where she gets stuck -

Then she hasn't connected her phone correctly.

When you plug into the USB you should get a menu up that asks you what connection you want. You need to choose "Disk Drive", then it will appear as a new drive on the PC. Just like if you had plugged in a USB stick.

If the menu doesn't pop up when you plug it in, pull down the status bar and there will be an option which says "Select to change USB connection type", then choose "Disk Drive"

Then when it appears as a new drive, this is the drive letter that you choose to sync to.
