HU advice

Hi there,

Ive just bought a 172 to replace my 1999 Clio 1.2 grande!

Currently in my clio I have an empeg/rio car HU (Harddisk mp3 player, cool screen, cool visuals superb audio quality) which doesnt have onboard amp so needs an external one....

Im not entirely sure that I can be arsed to go through all the hassle of fitting my stereo into the 172, so my question is this...

What HU do people recommend that plays mp3s doesnt look tacky and works with the stalk control (Ive already got an autoleads adaptor for my current stereo - but theres a different lead Ive seen mentioned which also does the remote display)...Im not entirely bothered about it having the most amazing sound quality (pretty much nothings going to sound as good as my current setup).....

Pioneer DEH-P7400MP or the updated DEH-P7500MP

Goes very well in a mk1, not sure how it will look in a Mk2

whoops, misread...Im not sure if the pioneer has an adapter yet

pretty easy to fit the rio player player and amp though no more then 2-3 hours surely?

Its all the hassle that goes along with using the rio though, you have to remove it from the car every time you leave it (its not exactly small and light), you then have to make sure that you dont leave it anywhere or drop it....

Plus the area around where the stero fits is quite "scuffed" from where I didnt quite manage to place the rio correctly....

I know its not a major effort to fit it, but its major effort to use the damn thing....if it had a removable faceplate then itd be a different story....

Ill end up getting the sony unit that renault sell as an accessory....
