Hubcentric spacers?

Before anyone tells me to do a search, I have done but the info is so conflicting I am looking for a definitive answer from someone who has done it.

I have some Ph2 172 16" alloy wheels waiting to go on my 2003 Dynamique. Will i need spacers or not? Some people say no, some say yes and that i will need 5mm each side on the rear only.

If i do need them, do they need to be hubcentric or will universal ones be fine?

I know there are lots of people who have fitted these wheels as mods so looking to find out what they used etc?

To cancel the offset difference you would require 10mm spacers.

Please define "need" and I will tell you whether you "need" them or not.

As in, will the car work properly without them? Or are they required to prevent rubbing etc.

Have you fitted these wheels and used spacers as i have been told by some to use 5mm spacers each side.

get hubcentric. end of.

you will NEED 5mm on the back for certain. some go wider like me, but my intentions were for better handling and wider looks.

15mm on each hub

hopefully you can see on those pics how much further out the wheels look

when i take the centre cap off my 172 alloys, it has 48.5 stamped, is this the offset?

correct, 48.5 is the offset, i thought it was 45 lol!

i just went to see if it was stamped on my current dynamique alloys and it isnt, but it is bloody cold! Only 6deg ffs!
