Humming?

Bit of advice please good people of CS. i had a humming that all symptoms pointed to the front drivers side wheel bearing so i took it all apart and took the hub to a garage to get the new bearing pressed in. refitted it all now i still have a humming but not as loud and does it in straight lines as well as bends and at most speeds over 30mph. Whilst doing the hub i do recall the outer cv joint popping out from the main shaft quite easily but it pushed straight back on, could the new problem be the outer cv joint?
