Anyone here done the conversion to hydraulic handbrake?

What's necessary for the job, what parts, what valves...hoses...lines...

Some info please :)

you cannot get the instant stop with cables...and hand power can never replace hydraulics...

Correct me if i'm wrong .But i was always led to believe hydraulic handbrakes for road use are illegal ? Something about the parking brake having to be mechanical !

why do you need that instant stop tho? my crs handbreak locks up the wheels as soon as i pull it, what more can a hydro one do?

its a racing thing, rally drivers prefer it as you need quite alot of braking force to lock up slicks or similar. Cables just stretch and dont have the power required to instantly lock both rear wheels.

Fatty, yours lock easily as theya re drums, and if you have the OE skinny wheels it only makes it easier. But we cant race with drums now can we.

That's why you still need a cable operated system for the mot test too.

okay, but could we stick to the topic - how to make the conversion, and what parts aer needed...forget about mot and all, let say we're talking about pure racing car

You ahve drumns, he has discs, BIG difference

I woudl guess you need to find some hydrolic hand brake rear clipers, and then just run a seperate system, opperated bya smaller master cylinder, and a hand opperated lever?
