I hate my car this week :(

  RB + LY 182 FF
I bought the car 6 weeks ago and other than the gearbox problem (now replaced with a recon) and minor MOT failure the car has been great :)
until sunday one of my xenons stopped working ( only 2 days old)
monday my heater decided not to give out warm/hot air..no air from the vents at all come to think of it.. and this morning on my way to work my front (only) wipers decided to stop working

french piece of ****
this is the only week i regret getting a renault :dapprove:

fuckin hell guys... lay off a little bit.

We've all been pissed off with our renaults at times. That would especially be so if we hadnt had it long.

Hopefully it will settle. Although id be worried about having no heat, classic sign of cyclinder head gasket failure.

on the 182 its a fault with one of the servo gears normally either causing all very hot or very cold whatever you set the temp to. quite common and a stupid expensive repair because of the labour taking the dash out.

sorry, i was quite abrupt... a 14k mile car shouldn't need a new gearbox. Perhaps you got some sort of warranty with the car which you can get the heating/xenon/wiper problems fixed under?

learn something new everyday? Take it applies to a ph2 172 as well?

yeh it does. I say quite common, quite rare really but i think the gear wears and it can be temperamental, sometimes will work, sometimes will stick on hot or cold. a 182 of my mates did it just before he sold it but then started working again.

head gasket failure i hope not...
from doing a search on here the heater motors are a common failure so will get that checked tomorrow.
the previous owner said the gearbox was fine until the car got to 4 years old and starting playing up ( again from a seach another common problem)
the car was then stood for a year while the owner got a comp car and my uncle recieved the car at a very cheap price due to the car
A. being stood for a year
B. gearbox needed changing
C. while on her drive 'something fell onto the front drivers side wing' -no bonnet damage ( they said it was roof tile ) but i wasnt there i dont know..surely these little niggles dont constitue for problems with the car!?!?
no it isnt a write off..well it aint declared on the v5 or the a/a car check i did !

as said i don't think its been such a bad car. Its not like its brand new, box is a weakness and can happen any time on mosts car really.
