Nothing to do with last owner, he was a professional valeter and rivaled Rich for cleanliness. Pure shite quality imo! Think a change is on the horizon...

lol. Its age mate. The exhaust is an age thing, never heard of bad rads tbh.

  Monaco Blue 172
Exhaust was 3 years old when I replaced it and had completely rotted through. It shouldn't be rotting at that age on any car.

Really? They do on Vauxhalls too!!! Mate who i work with had a corsa on a 54 plate. Needed a new system. We have a 54 plate Vauxhall Combo van that at the time had done 20k. Needed a new steering rack!! Wear and tear unfortunatly, nothing to do with Renault cars imo

Agree with that....some are better than others

I've had 2 years pretty good motoring out of my 172.

Get out and drive it hard then you'll want to keep it:D

Well thinking of updating to a 182 as they have a better spec so hopefully would be more reliable or even move on to a different manufacturer. Also mine was an import from Cyprus so wondering if thats why the quality isn't as good.

wickedbitch

i put a new fan belt, new coil pack, new clutch, and full stainless on mine in the first week ov owning her but she appreciated it and touch wood hasnt had any probs since then. I suggest you do what i did and marry a guy who bought into a business with a guy who is a renault specialist:rasp: that way you get cheap parts free fitting and paid to sit in the office playing on the computer:approve:

Found this thread whilst searching for "Window Regulator".

My 2nd silencer in 15 months has just disintegrated. Each one was fitted
new, albeit the 2nd one was a replacement under guarantee.

I was gonna go to Powerflow in Bury St Edmunds today for a quote
but my window regulator on the drivers side has spat it's cable, seized up
and dropped my window! Very handy, what with it peeing down amd sugar beet lorries
spraying kak everywhere!

Has anyone got any hints and tips for changing a window motor/regulator on
a Ph-Quick?

My regulator went aswell, about a year ago, and yes it was raining at the time too. I remember I had a car full of stuff from the plumb merchants and had to decide wheather I was going to have a wet car or have a working kitchen.
Needless to say when I saw how much it was going to cost to fix I left a bit of wood jammed between the glass and the floor of the door holding the window up for about a month...

Hi mate, that would be good. How much are you asking? New/used? etc

I went o my local "garage" to ask for a quote for fitting and he said it was a nightmare

and could take a whole day!

That kinda put me off til I read a few peeps on here saying it was easy!

I'm quite handy with the spanners , so I'm sure i can give it a go.

I've just never seen a twin cable regulator before. And mines like a birds nest.

i just couldn't work out where the cables ran!

Cheers, Andy

I hate my car sometimes, but then I love it again when I have little races with supposedly faster cars and match them or even beat them haha. You get what you pay for I suppose, in terms of build quality. If I can change one thing, it would be the rattles, they do my head it now

  titanium 182,
another point to remember with exhausts is if you only do short journeys most of the time, it will get a build up of water inside and rot out quicker

  BG 182
All you have to do with the exhaust on a clio

1. is go to the local super market bulk buy some bog roll then,
2. unraval said bog roll till you get to the tube,
3. Stick the tubes together, selotape will be fine
4. wack it up to your car
5. cut as long as required
6. finished you'll have a straight thro exhaust system which will last longer thatn a crappy renault one.

or buy stainless mate ;)

a window reg doesnt take a day to fit !!!

the technicians at work (Renault) have most of them done within an hour easily
