I love my 182

Just a quick post to say how much i love my clio 182, its my 1st renault and its much more fun than i thought :)

My previous hatches have been a zr 160 then an arden corsa vxr running 240 bhp and my last car was a corsa vxr nurburgring edition.

The vxrs were very quick and the burg handled brilliantly with the diff and bilstein suspension, but they didnt give that fun factor the 182 does.

The only performance mods at the minute are a full decat miltek but it pulls very well after 5k. It feels as quick if not quick than my vxrs when in the right gear and the engine seems much stronger!

My corsa burg was a 20k plus car but i love my £2450 clio alot more, everytime i drive it, it just reminds me of a staffy, it wants to be let loose, if it was a human being it would probably be in prison the little 5hit!

Im giving it a full correction detail after xmas and getting the wheels refurbed then it will be like brand new!

Just a little thread to say how over the moon i am with my new little purchace, this car was going to be a temporary car until i could afford another new one on finance, but now i have it, its a keeper for sure. I LOVE IT! :)

Ive had it about two month mate, i have just been out for a random ride and i couldnt stop smiling, i had to wright this random thread to get it off my chest lol.

Ah I see! Well glad you got one anyway mate. U posted any pictures? I was like that after I got mine then I started to lose the love for it, but after Xmas I'm gonna give it a full going over and full back in love again.lol

Know the feeling, glad i rescued my 172 from propable 'breaking for parts' it doesnt handle quite as well as m 1973 Mini-bin but ooooooo the instant smile when you give it some beans!!

Lol found something you really enjoy and saved yourself a few quid. Not bad! Hard to beleive it feels as quick as a 240bhp Vxr though!

well it does on a run through the revs mate, the only thing i can tell its alot slower is when rolling in 2nd at around 20mph, the vxrs would shoot off, i would have to be in 1st sreaming its ballax off to stand a chance from rolling but it deffo feels as quick when your in the right gear.

Fair enough. I've never been in a corsa Vxr. I like the look of them though. Wouldn't mind a go in one.

Why did you get rid of the 'Ring Corsa? Any pics?

Massive price difference of course. Feels like the Ring one hasn't even been out that long!

I hate corsa vxr's but that ^^^ is beautiful. Prefer the new twin exhaust look instead of the toblerone box

Cheers lads, yes it was stunning but now im finance free which is even better lol.

Ill start again if i decide i want someting nicer but the 182 is so funny to drive, i love it :)

Ah the Ring edition is very much don't give a f**k. I like it. Much better than the Arden Chocolate pistons.

those vxrs look like flying machines....i would put my money on it that they are way quicker than the 182

anyway good to see your enjoying the 182 i picked mine up for £2795 in september this year 2005 74k was a bit rough looking with stupid mods and a fsh and belts done but i knew i wanted it and im really enjoying turning it into the standard way it should look.....belts are getting done in january as i dont believe service books anyone can tamper with them

but i knew what i was buying when i got it and im happy to bring it back to its former glory

Am i the only person who hates those bonnet vents?? lol i prefer the blue vxr ......... the price of the corsa vxr nurberg is ridiculas ....

Thanks mate, the vxrs have alot of low down power and torque, but as soon as they are in the high rev range they struggle tbh. ive owned them for 4 years, im really pleased that i have a car that has gives me as much fun if not more.

Heres a quick vid i found, this is an arctic edition with a remus exhaust so its over 200bhp easily + that arctic wont be standard...

The 182 looses but not by much, not 18k worth anyway, thats the amount more the burg was than the 182 lol.

Nah i had the vents fitted, they are carbon fibre focus rs vents, some people like them, some dont, i loved them and it made it different.

Nah I didn't think they were standard! I'm not a fan but i'm an Oem+ kinda guy.

Lol, well people on here didnt know they wernt standard, i bet you didnt notice i had the front grille, wing mirrors and rear spoiler sprayed technical grey either, the same colour as the burg wheels??

I'm working i think mate, tiz my week on unfortunatley! Was over at Scot-Kart in Clydebank for the works night out a two weeks ago, chaos, utterly chaos it was lol. Three races, came second over all. Everyone (there was 10 of us) black flagged on the last race, it was utter carnage haha

Came second over all right enough lol :eek:

EDIT; Just realised i'm f**king off for the entire month of January lol, just text Holligan to see if there are any spaces!
