I managed to hit a kerb!

So last night travelling back from a friends house, just pottering along about to come off a roundabout and the arse end went a bit wayward.

I was travelling about 15mph in the pissing rain and the backend stepped out. Its ok I thought, ive caught it. missed my turn off but caught it. Ooops, Ive spun it.

I managed to wind the lock off and had the wheels pointing straight when I went up the kerb. Probably around 10mph.

My steering is a bit off now so going to get it up in the air and have a good poke around.

Are there any particular components/joints that are vulnerable with an impact of this nature?

Cheers

I had a similar impact, I lost the back end while virtually stationary. Didn't cause any damage luckily, just bumped the tyre.

I would be checking both front coil springs to make sure it hasn't fractured/snapped at either end, also check the steering rod/track rod ends for 'visible' deformation, and check the lower arms(wishbones) for any damage, check for steering play/wheel bearing movement. Not forgetting the tyres (i.e. sidewalls and tread for cuts/damage) and the inner and outer alloy rims for damage....especially around the tyre bead. Better to be safe than sorry ;) if all is well then your lucky, get the tracking set and be on your way :).

Would I be right in saying that as the tracking is out then surely something must be bent ? Only last week did I have the camber bolts fitted and alignment done. We painted marks where settings were made for reference so hopefully will be easy enough to spot.

Luckily in the new year I plan on doing the full shebang with the front end. New everything so wont have to live with it for long.
