I wanna put a turbo on my 172. How do i go about it on a tight buget?
Step 1: Read this as an example http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?558995-poorly-172-turbo-(
Step 2: Buy a turbo car (Evo,Impreza etc.)
This. Ph1 cups are cheap as chips these days. (which reminds me I need to get rid of mine :dapproveGet a 225.
Box doesn't fit without chassis mods.Or put a 225 engine and box in a Clio ;-)
Not 'on a budget'.But it does fit.
Turbo.
nahhhhhhh throttle bodies is where its at
Cams
ITB's
stronger valve springs
full porting and balancing
Revs FTW!
Later boxes use a bolted diff retainer so the circlip isn't a problem. The circlip is just the tip of the iceberg anyway, the boxes just weren't ever designed to take high torque.http://www.k-tecracing.com/search.asp?appid=2&catid=19
You can have a look through KTEC's conversion kit's on there, be aware though this kind of power monsters the circlip. Some use the DCI box to take the extra torque but again the circlip ain't the strongest.
Best of luck

Buy a T25 Turbo and some spanners?
Bolt the turbo onto the throttle body, then reconnect your airbox to the other end of the turbo.
Cheap as chips.
Let us know how it goes.
Can that really work?
Yup. Hadron collider works the same way IIRC.
