Ok ive had my Clio 1.2 Extreme (52 plate) , since August last year. Up to now ive been happy with the overall performance, until a few weeks ago when i drove ma cousins car (golf gti). Now im not saying i want the same car he has but i definatley want ma car to perform and look much better than it does right now.

So my my questions are :

1. Does any1 know where i can get a body kit fitted on ma car in or around north london.

2. Where can i get it tuned to perfection (at a good price) within the same area?

Most people on here will tell you not to bother tuning a 1.2 and buy a 182 or something similar.

yeah u will spend silly money on smaller engine cars.....(i did.. i spent £3000 on my zr 1.4)...which i tuned to 126bhp....

but its just not worth it,just by a faster car..

nearly der ..... im 21 insurance 4 me @ tha mo is aroun £3000 (a lil under i thnk), im earning good money so i cant see ma self stikin with this car for that much longer.

you insurance shouldnt be £3k, mines £1460 and I'm 18 on a 1.4 and thats a rip off!!

anyway that aside, if you want a body kit your gonna be slowing down your car.

If you want a faster car, lower it and then at least you can take corners etc quicker = a faster car

Mate, I know you said do not post our insurance, but I think I should tell you mine as I'm also 21, male, drive a 1.2 16V, and I have 0NCB (0 points)... I pay £655 with lowered excess and courtesy car

If I were you I'd cancel your policy. It may cost you a months worth (£250ish quid for you) but you'll save thousands over the year

private maybe £500 extra all depends who you get round to look and condition etc.

ive got 2 and a half year NCB and i paid just under £1200 for my 182, (21 end of april) 3k is alot for 1.2!!!! rip off infact, when i first got my 1.2 16v dynamique i paid £1800 for my first car! that was alot and i expected that!!

Ben_p on here pays something like £4k insurance at 19 or 20.
I was looking at £1.7k or so insurance on a 172 at 22. So I'd have been looking at over £3k when i was 19.
Even at 23 its £1.3k or so.

It all depends where you live, milage, history whop else drives the car etc.

who you with, im 27 full no claims no points i pay £58 per month parked on street which is a 12 month policy a £696 i really should only be paying £45 imo. near £60 is just too much however the £8 rise was due to me not having a drive to park it on

I pay £500 for my 172 with elephant... ah the joys of being 25. lol.

If I had a 1.2, I'd be looking at spending £500 + on a set of coilovers. The 1.2's are f**king slow, but they are great to drive and you can still carry a good bit of speed through the bends.

Engine mods, imho, are pointless. Just put a decent zorst/decat on it to make it sound nice.

best thing you can do with it is get it lowered to sort out the handling and upgraded brakes (although the brakes arnt that bad on them for fast road use anyway) then get a cat back exhaust and relocated induction kit.

That way the cars going to handle and stop a lot better which will make you faster round a track than if you spent a grand or 2 on engine mods! plus the exhaust and IK will free it up a little bit and make it more responsive and pull a bit harder

M8, try shopping round for ur insurance on the net, tesco is usually quit good, but im with privelage, but u need 4 years no claims to go with them. Im 26 and my insurance fully comp with pnc is £420 on my 182
