Ibiza; sells to buy 182

Afternoon peeps. Am selling my current car (T-reg Ibiza Gti) in readiness for delivery of my 182. First time ive ever sold a car privately, so was just wondering if you had any helpful experience to share :)

Have put adverts on here, plus 2 x SEAT forums, will do the usual stickers in windows, plus have emailed all my mates (with £50 finders fee on offer!), then will put it in Autotrader/.co.uk.

Other than that, what good (ideally low cost) methods have you used to advertise and sell your cars previously?

Cheers!

Andy

Good thinking Mike, phoned them yest, a bargain at £43 per week!! Groan. Or £63 with a pretty picture... Early days yet tho :)

best bet autotrader first place almost all people go when looking for a car if its in there and is reasonably priced and in a sellable condition it WILL sell

  Orange 182

I put my last car in autotrader for 2 weeks and on their website for 3 weeks. It cost me 40 quid and I had 1 caller who never showed up...

I then put an ad in my local newsagent window which cost me 50p and within 2 days I had sold the car :D.

Admittedly the autotrader is usually v good, but Id defo consider putting it on notice boards in some local shops!

I always sell mine and my familys cars privately. Id guess that between us, I sell about three cars a year and probably make a grand or two more than the dealer would offer every time.

Most of the time I have luck in the local Adtrader/Freeads with a big bold advert, although Autotrader seems to work better for my parents bigger and more expensive cars.

Dont underestimate a car window advert either! If the car is kept mint at all times then this can be a very cost-effective way of doing things!
