Ice and induction kit fitted

Car  Black Gold 182FF
Just re-installed the ice, sounds really good, but best of all is the new k&n 57i. Love the sound, took the car for 3 runs to chester and back today on the M53, throttle response is great and the performance is fantastic. A few pics for you lot. My kitten wanted to be included on the CS site too.

Looking good mate. Where are you going to put all the shopping!!? ;)

I'm also interested if your fuel consuption has increased with the k&n?

Shopping, ha ha, no place for that now:D . Mpg to be honest, I do not know yet. I do 35 - 37mpg travelling to work and back every day, approx 90 miles a day on the standard box. Back to work tomorrow, so I will monitor if there is any diference in the fuel consumption. Does not really matter to me though, as my employer pays for my petrol. :D

i wouldn't recommend that air feed either, if that gets sucked up into the engine bay it could be a disaster....

the ice is very nice, and i like the i.kit

Do you think I should take that second feed off completely? Is there any need for it as the original air feed is still pointing towards the filter.

I would tuck the air feed under a bit or try and relocate the feed behind the grille (probably a bumper off job tho) My cold air feed got mashed when I went down a muddy lane with high central verge. Love the sound of my K&N tho!:approve:

Just re-locate it to somewhere, even if it's a similar place as the original. The more cold air the better really.

Surely having the amps so close to the rear seats and with little air to 'breathe' isn't healthy :S

Nah, the amps are fine where they are, JBL's do not seem to get hot when thumped.

Brilliant, thanks for the info. Behind the grill is where it's going then, out of site.

Don't know how reliable the trip computer is. Re-set it before going to work today, checked the mpg when I got home and it was at 31.5mpg over a 90 mile round trip. So yes, it looks like the fuel consumption has increased, but dont know if this is usable info as it was only my 1st long trip since installing the filter. Should have an honest reading by the end of the week me thinks.

such a snug fit of the install. are they 15's? what rms are they? about 300 each? and are your seats ALL leather :D

Yip, 15's, RMS ???, dunno, but the car could probably drive with the engine off when I crank up the volume. Seats are standard 182 ff leather/alcantra. Very snug fit on this boot install, but no boot space, and the install is VERY heavy.

All amps get hot, I wouldn't even contemplate having them with so little air space but its your call I suppose.

Obviously all amps get hot EVENTUALLY. Anyway I had the same subs & amps fitted in the same position in my Opel "Vauxhall" GSI in South Africa, and they were fine for the 3 years I had the car, that is including regularly competing in audio sound-offs. Funny though, the car sound got stolen before the amps packed in. So I do have trust in them. Well for 3 years more at least.:rasp: Anyway, if they do blow, I'll just buy new amps, not a big issue as they are only cheap amps. :clown:
