ICE in your 172/182?

I was just interested in what ICE people have put in there car? Has anyone put a sub and amp in the boot and if so how have they managed to keep it fixed inside the boot without weighing the car down. I would of just got speakers and amp but then I like to feel the beat in most of my songs (I dont mean silly bass so I cant hear the music). In my 1.4 I have had a sub and AMP put into the boot and new speakers put in the fornt and back and the music sounds really good but in a 182 I dont think I would want to put so much extra weight in there.

Iv got a sub enclosed in a fibre glass box, two amps, front speakers and 6x9's on the shelves, i can post pics tomorrow if you like, il get my car back, having the head unit installed :)

ah rite sounds like a nice install apart from the 6x9's.. :( not a big fan of these tbh. Would love to see pics of how u installed them in your car if possible.

Thanks

ive got rainbow components in the front and a vibe active sub in the boot. the components do the trick and i wanted something nice and simple in the boot so the vibe fitted the bill perfectly

I just got a full boot install put into my dci, which I'd want to put into a 172 when/if I get one

I've got a clarion vrx-766vd in-dash dvd headunit, with digital tv, and sat nav.
I've upgraded the fronts to 6.5" cadence cvl-6k components, 200 rms peak (quality speakers let me tell you), that inc's new tweeters.

Then i just got 5.25" polk audio components for the back, and finally two fusion SVC 12" subs.
Subs are running through an alpine V12 monoblock, and the speakers running through an eclipse 4ch.

People complain about weight and what not, but its illegal to go past 60km/hr in most areas (in australia), and in the event i take the car to the track, its not difficult to take out the stuff.
But i'd like to think i'm pretty serious into music, being a musician of nearly 10 years. I only really listen to DVD audio now, so quality is pretty important to me.

Alot of people really don't want to put all the subs and stuff in to save weight, but if you want to feel the beat, at least put one 10" or something. I didnt put 2 12"s in by choice, i got them off my brother, so no cost to me. admittedly, they came out of a sedan, so these things blow your socks off, but luckilly its complimented by quality front components.

I agree also, i'm not a fan of 6x9's they cover an interesting range of frequencies... The stock speakers were alright actually, but the bass was very empty, and the back speakers are horrible. tweeters are quality though!

How expensive is Focal up in the UK? I got told some ridiculous prices down here in Spain so went for kicker instead

Depends on what range you go for the access and polyglass can go relativley cheap for components and subs, where as the utopia just like everywhere else in the world is in the several £1000's.

Just got a new pioneer DVD headunit and going to keep it simple. Quality components in front, replacement co-ax for rear, and a 12" sub. Will have one 4 channel amp running the 2 components and then bridge the remaining 2channels for the sub.
