Iceberg 172 Cup daily

Evening,
Just posted in new members section, but thought I'd start a project thread also.
I previously had a Ph1 Exclusive and was on the look out for a Ph1 or 172 Cup. Came across this Iceberg Cup for sale on here. It's going to need a fair bit of tlc but I like the rarity of it. Anyone know how many Iceberg Cups with no aircon were made?

Plans are to maintain and enjoy. It's booked in for a once over at Ren7oaks on Tuesday.

After hearing good things about Ren7oaks I dropped the car off with them yesterday for a mechanical inspection. Wanted to make sure the car is worth keeping.

The results weren't too bad at all. Power steering leak is the switch. Cambelt, dephaser, crank pulley, aux belt all need replacing (knew this when purchased the car). The worrying part is the steering felt a bit lively and would wander a bit. The bushes are perished and the 4 bolts holding the rack, one missing, one hanging off and 2 not tight. Glad i had this checked. Also needs outer arb bushes.
I've booked the car in next Thursday to have all the worked carried out. The bill is going to be more than I paid for the car, but I plan on keeping it long term and It's a daily and occasional track car so for peace of mind It's getting done.
Still leaves a list of jobs to do but all things I can do (get mates to do)
Also fitted new thumb grips. It's the little things

Got the day off work. So have been very productive and ......... fitted a sticker!!

The want to use a dab of handbrake for every corner is immense!!

Hopefully proper updates will commence once all the above mentioned work has been carried out next Thursday.

Yup, very rare indeed.

It's funny how iceberg silver seems to be the most common colour for non cup 172s, yet the rarest colour for cups.
