ideal rms for a surround sound?

I have been looking at a few systems ranging from 100 wrms to 800 watts.

Is there a big difference in watt's as i dont have a sound proof cinema room unlike some fellow cs'rs

i'd say 300wRMS would be a good figure to aim for to be the minimum

the sub will take a lot of the power

I'd not read too much into the RMS value, look at the quality of components, the cones and materials etc, RMS is just a figure to people can say 'Look at my 10000000watt system' IMO

That's PMPO not RMS. imo.
