idle update (part 12) ;0)

  20VT Clio & 9-5 HOT

ok, iv been out for a sneaky drive, even tho my box is still fooked!

under 4k the revs drop pretty low still, no sign of cutting out though, but when i gave it some above 4k, the revs never dropped below 1500rpm afterwards. and it idled at that too, but seemed to move up and down a fair bit, untill i switched it off and back on again!

any ideas, im thinking get the potentiometer setup, but i dont fancy paying rip off renault about £70+ to do it!

cheers

crap, if only somebody could find that post of mine.

If not ill get the values for you again.

Still sounds like the ISCV bleeding too much air in as it rests itself when you restart it.

hmmm. i have changed it for another one. the high idle wasnt there before i changed the CTS and the timing sensor! im running out of things to try!

maybe it just needs a good mapping!

Thats the speedo cable.

Well its still broke..

It thinks you are still moving or something, and thinks you just changing gear.. so it doesnt drop right down to idle at normal rpm..

Could just not be fitted right?

hmmm ill check it. but its only started this idling high since i changed the CTS and timing sensor, as they were the last things left to change just about! the initial idle seems better!

bit of a feker this ones been!

have you wired up an aftermarket stereo or something similiar and tapped into a earth wire behind the dash. there is an earth wire behind the dash which if it is tapped into can affect the ecu. it causes the idle speed to stay at 1500rpm after youve floored it and let it idle.
