thats a shitter...although it does raise the question, why did you keep the hand book and service history in the car?

just keep a look out for 182's selling in your area with full service history. ;) your service history can't be replaced can it?

  In between cars....
Main dealers keep a record of servicing, so if its main dealer history that should be replacable, even independant garages, if you have the receipts for stuff carried out might be able to restamp for you

Certainly worth looking into, your cars only 4 year old so only need a couple stamps

Why the f**k would anyone steal that except if they're selling a 182 without service history, keep an eye out for them. Also surely the reg numbers wont match anyway which any buyer would notice?

lol, you serious?

You dont honestly think for a minute that there happened to be a 182 on the look out for a service history because the same thing happened to him or he just lost his?

Some clown has stolen it because theres been either nothing else to steal or they have done it out of sheer badness

TBF your just as bad for leaving it in your car mate... unless it had just been for a service and you forgot about it but still...

Sounds random tho :S

amazed at all the people who keep their history in their cars, soooo who keeps the V5s in there to?

I keep my histroy book, and user manuals along with radio ones, inthe car, always have done, so have my parents, and my parents parents lol!!
If you go to Renault you can buy a new book (circa £15) and then they will stamp it up for you if its dealer history! (have to go to all the dealers you went to if more than one!!)

It was serviced yesterday and i picked the car up and then went straight to work for a night duty so didnt have time to put it back in the house typical!!!

you can get all the details from main dealer assuming most of the servicing is main dealer, then post up the dates i t had what done and if anyone sees it with identical dates then they can clap matey who is selling a fukd 182 with a stolen service book...

I work for Vauxhall and id say 80% of customers have their service packs in the car, maybe 1 in 50 has the spare key in the pack too! Makes life alot easier for me when i need to check service history etc.

I personally dont keep the pack in the car, but thats only because i keep stuff in my glovebox!

When i used to get stopped on 'spot checks' back when i had my chav cars, the police used to ask if i had my documents ie. MOT, insurance and when i didn't they always cautioned me 'because they had to'

My cars here with me at uni in portsmouth!! Otherwise live in Suffolk!! no im at uni! otherwise yes i live with my parents!! Ive got a different radio in now! but i meant the book for the standard radio! took it all out tonight, but tbh its absolutely of no-use to them unless they just want to know how a clio works! All the stamps have my reg on, they go up to nearly 90Kmiles so they would have to be selling a high mileage car!! and then its in the glovebox!! tbh, im more worried about them taking the radio (blaukpunt) that they can see by lookin in the window! than the fluke chance of them finding my service book in the glovbox!

Whose got headunits, subs, amps and stuff in there boot more valuable than there service book? I know i have!

Tbh the more i think about it, the more im going to leave it in there, ITS IN THE GLOVEBOX IT CANT BE SEEN!! I've even got alloys without locking wheel nuts FFS!!!!

edit, the question of was there anything else in the car to steal hasnt been answered!! I doubt they took the handbook and left a laptop on the back seat!!

Probably saw the pouch, got disturbed (didnt have time to check what was in it) and thought it was their best bet of getting somthing good so ran off with it, only to find they had jack $hit!!

Theres only like two or 3 people who have said they dont so far!! Tbh when i worked for Renault, when you asked where the service book was they always said in the glovebox, or the boot! and most of them said it hadnt been moved scince they bought the car/had last service!!

90% of people have their service pack/book either in there glove box/door pocket/ or boot. Pisses me rite off when customers dont leave the service book in the car when it comes in for a service.

  a burnt one
LMAO at the shock from from people questioning the motives for leaving a service book in the glovebox.

Because stereos, subs, amps, seats, wheels, CAT, fuel ,spare wheel sat nav all come in the house with me when i leave the car:eek:

I dont have my documents in my glovebox incidentally but i wouldnt question anyone who did, i thought i was the odd one because i was such a perfectionist with my 'car' folder.

However my bank card sits in the door card all the time, means i never leave the house without it.

My sat nav is in the glovebox as i never know when il end up lost.
