Am I the only one that finds it sad that fan-boys are getting in a lather over engines? And they aren't even Italian?

erm... hks dragster running a 6banger rb26det and running 6 sec 1/4's

but besides that you wouldnt run a top fuel engine in a road car lol!

as far as road cars go... getting power out of a v8 is a s**t load easier than a 4/6pot or rotary... but easy isnt as fun....

  Evo 8 Jap Crap
Which hks dragster is that?

The only hks dragster running 6's as im aware is the supra and its a v8 ;)

That car hasnt run since 2007 i believe and even then it ran high 7's

Ok if were going down this road..

There are plenty of 13b and 20b Rotary drag cars the run in the 6's

That's like an 8th of the size or less than a V8 :p

To go back to the OP.. a V8 of that size doesn't belong in a japanese car. Imo someone needs to buy the car minus the engine for £1000, and put the right engine in it. And buy a new bonnet cause hes cut a dirty great hole in that one.

there is a company in oz that have designed billet rotors.... they are building a car for this year with their engine... 2 rotor... 15k rpm rev limit (possible to take it to 19k!) road legal (will be an arrive and drive) they are expecting low 6's from it... and thats a road car!

The point isn't the car at all, the point is the feat of engineering. the shell without the engine is worth about £50. Gordon spent years building that car and it's an animal

Perhaps this topic has now gone a little off course but if the guy with the Nissan wanted a cheap and reliable way to extract 6 / 7 / 800 bhp from an engine, a popular method is to use a modified small block chevrolet V8 and supercharge it. Perhaps hes just done it for show and to be a bit different - he has my approval anyway :D

Still waiting for a jap 6 potter vid of a 4.5 sec at over 300 mph though ;) ?

( theres quicker - but this happens several times a year in our own back garden )

20b Rotary Dragster = 654ccx3 rotors = 1962cc - 6.7 1/4mile

Top Fuel Hemi V8 = 8194cc - 4.6 1/4 mile

Case closed ? :p

Seriously this has gone on long enough now, it's clear some people prefer V8's some don't ! and is so far from the original point now it's pointless, Let's agree to disagree huh.

The 180/ 200sx in the OP looks funny. LOL @ the car being worth £1k around a £14k lump and 'box! :D

... lets look at other engines that spin at 9krpm and last longer that are that small and put out that much power.... erm there are none lol!...

Playing Devil's Advocate:

Taking into account the 13B-REW is FI and produces between 250 & 280bhp in stock guise: What about the Honda F20C? :D Comparable output (240-ish) I know of some that have done 140k without a rebuild.

  Better than yours. C*nt.
There's a shitload of work to do to lose over 2 seconds from a quarter mile run. Particularly at that level!

Just lol at all the Jap fanboiz getting upset that some fat American lump has been stuffed into their pretty little rotbox.

It still amazing me how people are sad enough to get their knickers in a twist over a jap car having a non jap engine in it...,its his car, let him put whatever engine he wants in it, there is no unwritten rule to say it is wrong to change the nationality of the engine, just people foolish enough to think it matters in the slightest.

erm... there is the 12a and the 13b na that runs at 9krpm too, 12a is classed as a 1.2l and the 13b na is 1.3l ....

Some of them aren't that pretty lol.

I didn't want Malice's mum laying the smackdown on me for making him cry, but yes I don't think there's many pieces of Jap Crap that are actually 'pretty', they're just respected because of that they are.

i agree most jap cars are ugly, but thats what makes them cool, japan make really mental cars and make them look ugly, but still sell more, perform better, last longer than most other cars on the road... so even if they are ugly... they do something right lol!
