I bought a 2002 Clio from a salvage auction with no key. I have had a new key cut but the guy who cut the key needs to get the ignition OFF to reprogram the key to the ECU.
The problem is that whenever I connect the battery the dash lights come on (the ones which would normally be illuminated when you put the key to position 1). This happens even though the ignition is in position 0 with the key removed
I have tried various things like pulling the plugs on the ECU (after removing that hellish anti-tamper cover!!), pulling the relays under the bonnet and under the dash. Also pulled the plug on the back of the ignition barrel and can't seem to get the dash lights off.
Anyone got any advice/ideas.
