Imagine my surprise....

when I called up to transfer my insurance from my 2 year old 1.2 6v Clio valued at £6000 with tints, 17"s, full stereo system and black lexus lights onto a 1.1 1990 Ford Fiesta LX with 88,000 on the clock valued at £200.

They asked me for MORE money as the Fiesta is Group 12 and the Clio Group 6!

Had to go TPF&T to avoid paying more!

As I said above its a 1197cc Fiesta 1.1 LX. 14 years old!

I have the Fezza cos I sold my car...and the 182 is still going to be a few weeks. So I bought the Fezza for a few hundred quid as a stop gap!

Na the zetec sports a group 8 and there 90 bhp!!

Could really see a 45 brake LX being such a high group!! LOL

How shocked would i have been at 17 even if it was group 7 like pete said!!

For a couple of weeks I would have hired an easy renta car. I had a Yaris from them when I was between jobs and cars last year. Very cheap.

No way is it group 12..

i agree, there is no way its grp 12 mate,

god knows why they reckon that- a valver is grp 12 !!

a mk4 1.25zetec (75bhp) is only grp 5, as my brother has one.

a zetec s (they only came in 1.6) is grp 8 and they are 103bhp.

the hightest grp is the rs1800 & fiesta rs turbo, they are grp 15/16.

My 1.1 1995 LX is group 4 or 5 TOPS! Thats crazy!!!

I pay just under £500, 22, 1 yrs NCBs, driving over 3 years, 1 claim in past 3 years.

No way 115bhp mate they get pasted by burberry boys in there 90 brake vtrs and the 1.6 rsi which 110bhp beat em too!! Im still pretty sure there around the 90bhp mark but deffinrtly not 115bhp!!

1.6 16v Zetec-Ss are 110bhp I think. They get pasted by VTRs and that because, um, they say Ford on the front of the bonnet...
