Immobiliser/Ignition Major Problem.

  1.4 Maxim (Breaking!)
Hey,

My car has been off the road for about a month now due to a problem i had, heres the story:

I went out to my car to get in to the bonnet and i opened my door by accident without using the fob for the alarm, then i find that the fobs arn't working (i had 2) so my alarm did not stop going off (this was bout 8pm on a school night), so i thought ok ill disconnect the battery, did so and the alarm was still going off! so i quickly ran in doors and got some tools, cut the alarm wire and the bloody thing was still going off! so i had to go get a hammer and smash the alarm itself to shut up.

After all this i go to turn my engine on, and the car doesnt want to know, i think i may of tripped the car into some Safety Mode? When i turn the ignition it doesnt start & all the hazard lights come on and flash constantly for about 30seconds, don't know what that's about.

So i was just wondering if anyone here knew how i could fix this myself?

Lol!!!

I wish i could help,

the AA would of been a better option though than a hammer?!!

Haha hope u sort it

What model is your car as the alrm might not be facotry fitted in which case you remove it or get an electrictial to do it.

Its a Renault Clio 1.2 Versailess 1996 N Reg , The alarm was fitted by previous owner, I wish i could of called the AA, my car is on a private drive with loads of town houses so i didn't have much choice (didn't want to wake thier babies n children up) This alarm was definately fool proof lol.

If anyone knows where it connects on the ignition i will try and do it myself as i don't have alot of money right now.

Thanks,
Ash

Get a Haynes manaul out and remove the dash and start looking for the alarm wires then.
