Hey all, having an issue with my 2000 1.2 Clio grande. It’s a phase 1.
When turning over it starts up for a second or two and then cuts off. I have inspected the wires that go over the gear box that go from the ECU to the fuse box, and repaired a thin white wire that was corroded. Checked these wires and found no further corrosion. Still no change.
All fuses are sound and not blown.
I then unplugged the ECU and checked the pins, no corrosion.
I replaced the decoder ring.
All earth points were cleaned thoroughly.
I then checked the crank sensor and cleaned that up, no change.
The immobiliser bypasses on YouTube do not work.
I suspected it might be the key, I had the board rebuilt at work as I suspected dry joints, still no change.
Removed top part of dash and inspected wires that lead up to the decoder ring, all in good condition.
I am at a loss now, it used to start up using a bypass I found on YouTube but now it will not start.
Very close to just taking it to a garage but I thought I’d ask for advice here before anything.
Thanks in advance!
