Immobiliser problem on my 1998 Clio

  1998 clio
Hi iv owned my Clio for just over a month now and it's my first car I don't really know much about them but on a few occasions I have had a problem with starting the car and I think its due to my immobiliser, I will turn the key fob to deactivate the immobiliser but the light will go solid and then start flashing rapidly usually if I take the key out and try it a few times the problem resolves itself and the red light will go solid and then go off allowing me to start my engine the problem has only happened three times in the month iv owned it and I can usually get it going in at the very latest ten minuets I'm just worried that the problem my get worse and I won't be able to deactivate the immobiliser at all one day, it happened today and after taking the key out twice it started and every time I hav tried it since its been fine, is it just because it's an old car ? Anyone had the same problem ? Has it got worse ? Many thanks
