I really don't see how pushing the key in with force would solve the imobiliser problem?..
If the red light is solid it's not a key problem or anything like that but that's as much as I can help you sorry!
If I recall there is no way to bypass the immobiliser even though I don't actually think that's the actual fault. Also, turn the key to ignition on and wait to see the red immobiliser light and see what it does, if it stays solid then don't bother even trying to start as it won't and trying to turn it over when it's not going to start can be doing the engine any good.
I had this issue with my 182, never actually got to the bottom of it as it was pretty random times it did it, sometimes I'd leave it and go back to the car half an hour later and it would be fine and work for a while.
Some suggestions I had was a possible earth problem / possible wiring problem from the big clump of wire near the battery/fuse box that can wear the plastic sheet off one of the cables.
