Hi i have a 172 cup i have just bought some imola bucket seats can some1 tell me if they are easy to fit and are the standard seats easy to take out any replies would be very grateful...as i am new to modding.....

:)

oh.. u might have a problem. did you find out anythink about them b4 u brought them, as in if they fit. what you will need. etc etc you got any pics :)

they will fit, u need soem sub frame from cobra, we get discount, u will need soem harnesses, std seat remove with 4 bolts under the car, u could swap em in a few hours

i thought they were universal i brought them off a friend brand new never fitted for a bargain.wont they fit then.

yer they fit, but u need to buy frames to make them, the seats are uni ots just they use all diff frames, where do u live?

Yeah subframes needed, old seats are really easy to take out so shouldnt be a problem

i live in swindon ive been looking on merlin motorsports web site for cobra frames will the air bag light come on if i disconnect the airbag thingy under the seat.

Not sure you will have to do a little search on the forum, i believe Renault can turn it off with there clip computer

u can use a resistor, with some trick wiring, edde has a giude iirc, this will remove thelight, as urs is a cup, u wont have side air bags to worry about, so it will be just the pre tensior to worry about

As ben says, fairly simple. You could even contruct some your self if you good with metal work...

did mine the other day, i have cobra daytonas fitted in a cup....... To remove O.E seats you will need deep 13mm socket, 8mm (for battery), trolly jack and axel stands maybe some wire cutters....and some torx bits

1. Disconnect battery
2. jack up car. Starting from the passenger side underneath there are two rubber plugs (approx 25mm in size) pull them off. These are the seat bolts nearest the doors.
3. there are two bolts left for the runners near the hand brake, these are situated under the exhaust heat sheild after the cat. Remove the sheild, (think its a torx bit) you will now see two nuts, undo these, seat will now be free
4. before the seat comes out you need to disconnect the pre tentioners, on mine i had to cut the wire as it had been soldered on a reno recall, but some have a plug i beleive... disconnect however appropriate
5. pull out seat, be very carfull NOT to catch the sill.... thats removing them pretty much, i had reclining subframes to go back in, and that is pretty much the reverse of taking them out, i had to strip the pretentioners off my original seats to put on the cobra subfames, but if your using harnesses i beleive you can do away with these

its not too hard
