Improving my 182 Performance?

  182
Ive been thinking about what mods to do to my 182 engine wise, have a itg panel filter and it has had a remap, but not driving to well. Wanting to keep it standard looking, not itbs or chargers. Was thinking of these:
-Ktec ECU90
-Cams
-Limited slip diff
-Exhaust too but just louder than standard system.

Not sure what induction setup to go for, wether just keep standard airbox or get an itg one etc.

Have my brakes and suspension done!
Have no idea what power gains i would get but understabd there not going to be drastic, just looking for what would be worth it
Cheers

All depends how wild you go on the cams and what cams you go for.

Probably get somewhere about the 190/195 Figure.

Dont know why you want to keep it "standard" looking, with the money you are planning on spending id be seriously condidering a ITB kit.

On another note LSD is a great mod. especially for track.

Well im unN sure as what to do cos its my daily so want it drivable evryday but still got some power when required, i know cams are expensive, but need opinions.

I ve used the search function but its hard to find solid answers thgat are helping me, lol:S

Just get a supercharger. Whats the benifit in it looking standard if it isnt. You could only tell its charged if you open the bonnet.

cheapest bang for buck will be a these 3
Decat,
Matched inlets
RS Tuner

also Consider ditching AirCon

Noooo dont start a new trend. It was found in the other topic not to make much difference :dapprove:

Last thing we need is half a dozen new topics a week on ''what gains to be had by removing the aircon'' ;)

Decat gives better driveability, more bottom end and I find it pulls up hills in higher gears better. Would be even better with a re map. Exhaust would make a difference too. Then it's getting onto expensive stuff.

Well was thinking of the ecu 90 in case i did want ITB or supercharger in the end, cos they use the same ecu! Ive had the car for 5 years now n might as well put some money into it, lol.

No need to de-cat just modify the great race cat you have on you car. If you want a nice full flow exhaust but still not very loud I find the Milltek nice.

Cant realy see any point in changing the ECU since you can program the stock ECU for almost as evil cams as you can run with stock springs and non-solids.

The differential is realy great transforms the car tbh but it is a very involved job.

EDIT: Just saw your post about going for ITB's or supercharger in the future. Can understand the point of the K-tec ECU then. But you will have to make up your mind what route to take if you are going for cams. Angry N/A cams will be crap with F/A.

Previously had ktec ultra performance exhaust but was pretty loud n wasnt sitting right, milltek was on my mind, run standard cat or sports/decat.

Is the diff worth it for a lightly tuned car, say just remap, induction, exhaust and cams mostly road use too?

Cheers for the input

I would say its more a focussed track mod. Like anything you will never see the full benefit of it on the road. and it is alot of cash.

Do you track your car at all then ?

Well ive been with it once or twice but was looking into getting a ph1 like yourself for track use so i guess i would so no for the 182.

Off topic, is it your ph1 on the calendar for jan?

cheers

Do you know what your 182 is running standard bhp wise?

Cams and a remap are a good route to take to keep it 'sensible' for daily driving etc, and not too pricey in the grand scale of tuning an F4R ;)

Well if you planning on buying a second car, i wouldn't be spending any cash making your 182 faster. How ever if your just casual about track days just track your 182.
We got the PH1 between my brother and myself but it is expensive running/keeping 2 cars.

I agree on this as well, it is fun on the road as well but you have to drive like a madman to realy feel it working. So if its not a car that will se track on a regular basis save your money.

In fact if you are thinking about a Ph1 as a pure track car Id say skip the cams as well. The car will be a lot sharper with just cat modification, other tubes to stock airbox , milltek exhaust and an RStuner map. Mine did 119kw at the wheels with those mods.

Remap comes after everything else otherwise it's pointless. But yes, with cams, exhaust, IK and a remap expect to see around 180 - 185bhp at a guess.

Heard a few people saying that, have to get that sorted then! Prob go for remap n Match inlets aswell, maybe push for cams.

Cheers
