In-Car PC Help!

Im looking at fitting a pc into my car and actually running it off a 5.6" TFT screen, and im going to have an illuminated mini keyboard fitted to the glovebox door!

The only thing im worried about is a way to connect that sort of screen to a pc tower? What sort of connector could i use, or is it even possible to do!?

Any help really appreciated.

Chris.

dont bother with the TV outs on video cards.. the quality is terrible even on the best ones.

Make sure you buy a screen that has vga in (like a monitor) and check this site out for the best of the best.. plenty of ideas and solutions to problems.

Any ideas on the best place to get a really small tft screen with vga in?

Any good sites? Or just any good pc periphiral (sp) sites in general?

That pcdash site is way too confusing for the likes of me, im just gonna plug it in and turn it on. Im seriously dull when it comes to electrics.

Buy my screen!

VGA, 7" and Touchscreen - you then use it as the mouse and use an on-screen keyboard.

Ive done the whole PC thing.. and now selling it.

Daz: Where did you put the pc? Was it a full size pc case or did you manage to find a small pc case that looked nice? Did you use it much?

Thanks

PC was in the boot. I had a Cube Case so was kinda nice. Everything was in it I needed.. a lot was on board.

I used it loads.. but because the screen wasnt integrated into the car (like, a dash build).. I didnt always get the screen out after a few months..

To do it properly, you do need a VGA Touchscreen.. and you do need a proper car PSU. The PSU cost me about £170 (it shuts down when you turn ignition off, starts up with it on.. doesnt reset on engine start) which got imported from America.. the screen cost about £350 to import.

B**locks!!! Im all confused now, this started out as a "I want a screen, I have an old pc lets just connect them together and away we go! NOw I find out I prob need dedicated in car psu, specific mother board to go in small case or a new barebones pc package! Not what I was hoping!

Maybe a rethink on what I want to do now!
