Indicator flashing quickly...

  Suzuki Ignis Sport
I noticed my indicators flashing quickly, so i knew it was my bulb, changed it to a new one, but still is flashing quickly.... checked to see whether the connectors are corroded, and they have some sort of powder on it, tried scratching it off, but it won't come off... what other method could i use?

When i plug the connector in, none of the bulbs work, but when i bend the black connector a bit whilst its plugged in, some of the lights light up, but if i bend it even more all the lights work....

Its a b**ch, coz I personally hate ppl who don't indicate, and don't like to be a hypocrite, so it looks as though i don't indicate now :S

Its the connectors on the bulb holder thats the problem, because I have switched the left one with the right one, and its the bulb holder thats the problem.

youve identified you need a new connector, this isnt a parts desk we can tell you what you may need but no more than that

it will take you 2 mins haz, seriously with all this faffing you could have had the problem solved by now

Well I am at work at the moment, so i'd rather keep it on the low, rather than on the phone to Renault.

their used to be a parts number thread somewhere, but i dunno where it is, just ring up renault dude, btw, i noticed that the renault by r-tec has closed down. lol that wasnt open that long was it

is this the rear light cluster?
i've had bother with mine too - the plugs seem a very weak design. i ended up cleaning up the pins, spraying everything with white grease (vaseline would do) and reassembling carefully - been fine since but probably only a matter of time

Yup it is the rear light cluster. I tried scratching the white powder off of the connections on the bulb holder, but to not avail. So I guess a new one will be in order.

the white powder will just be corrosion - scratch harder, it'll come away - use an electrical screwdriver or something similar. the vaseline/white grease will protect the terminals from corroding again and promote conductivity - i'd suggest giving it a good go as it may well save you some money:)

As above really.

Get so e contact cleaner on there and maybe soem sandpaper if you can wrapped around a screwdriver.

Common area where watr gets in there and corrodes the connectors.

Ahhh... brilliant, I'll give it a go tonight then.

But the only worry is, that i'll scratch too hard?... or would it not affect it?

LoL no it wont be a problem.

I had to do this on my old 1.2, got some e contact cleaner from Maplins.
Small screwdriver with some sandpaper on it.

Spent about 10 mines playing with the connector pins, one last spray to get the dirt out and connected it back up.

Beware tho...if you clean the contacts up too much the extra power getting to the lights will blind people.....;)

Haz...this is the same thing that I told you about 3 days ago on another thread! I told you to clean the connectors...you have done ½ the job and you get ½ the result!
