Induction kit ? ? ?

Car  MK1 Clio (soon to be V6)
Can any one recomend the best suited induction kit for a phase one Clio 16v? Currently got a K&N on there, sounds ok... but heard they wernt too got for the engine?

Si ;)

the problem mate is heat build up in the bay, any open induction kit will suffer that

try and fit a BMC on or Viper, or just get an OE airbox and panel filter, hill power do a pipe work mod and scoop thing which looks good

The K&N will be losing you power....

Either get an original airbox with a replacement element, or if your feeling flush a BMC or Viper.....

Yeah, thats exactly what a lot of people say.... but the Viper kit looks and feels kind of cheap, never really been a big fan. The BMC kit looks ok... which potentialy might be the best for power increase and dont really want to lose that good old Valver induction grunt either ? ? ?

best thing i found on me cup was a viper...... but disconnect the cold air feed, and have it about 2-3" away, pointing straight at the filter housing.... imo it gives better pick up as it doesn't have to draw the air through the long bendy cold airfeed pipe, and you still get a nice grunt

viper is w**k on the Mk1 there is no room for a decent cold air feed and the adapter plate for the throttle body blocks about 35% of the surface area!!! I sold mine for half what I bought it for.....stnd airbox or hill power i/k IMHO

They're all rubbish compared to the std airbox and far more expensive. Just look at the area the std filter give compared to a viper or similar its a fair bit more...
